Blue Rider a Producer on Upcoming Travolta film SPEED KILLS

Walter Josten, Blue Rider's CEO, is one of the producers of the upcoming biopic/actioner/thriller SPEED KILLS, starring John Travolta, Katheryn Winnick, Mira Sorvino and Jordi Molla, about legendary speedboat racing champ Don Aronow. Directed by John Luessenhop (Takers), it is to be filmed in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Miami Beach, beginning May 30, 2017.

Aronow created the most enduring boat brands in the industry, including Donzi Marine, Blue Thunder and the legendary Cigarette. At his height, Aronow did business with the US Government and drug cartels at the same time, a double life that led to his mysterious murder in 1987.

Luessenhop co-wrote the screenplay with David Aaron Cohen, whose credits include Friday Night Lights and The Devil’s Own.

The Honorable Ricardo Rosselló, governor of Puerto Rico, has welcomed the production of the film, saying, "Puerto Rico is excited to welcome the Film Production of SPEED KILLS to our beautiful island. Being trusted by an incredible project like this one is yet another proof that the people of Puerto Rico’s talent, hard work and compromise is unparalleled. The Government of Puerto Rico wants to reiterate that we are open for business."

Blue Rider has produced, distributed and/or financed 118 films in the past 39 years, featuring such stars as Michael Caine,
Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kiefer Sutherland, Richard Gere, Minnie Driver, Antonio Banderas,
Julianna Margulies, Jackie Chan, Mila Kunis,
Samuel L. Jackson, Shia LeBeouf, Michelle Pfeiffer, Rodney Dangerfield, Matthew Perry,
Christian Bale, Burt Reynolds, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Helen Hunt and Colin Firth.

Blue Rider CEO Josten said, " It is wonderful to be filming on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, where we are being given terrific support, and where there is a wealth of behind-the-camera talent. And I am delighted that we have obtained the services of two-time Oscar-nominee John Travolta, who has displayed a great range in his choice of characters over the years. I think this will be a very exciting film!"

Walter Josten is executive producing and Blue Rider is financing, while Nick Hamm (The Journey) will direct and that film's Colin Bateman will script.

Sudeikis stars as Jim Hoffman, a con artist-turned-informer for the FBI in the war on drugs. Olyphant plays his handler, determined to snare the world-famous but enigmatic DeLorean (Pace) — desperate for cash to finance his dream of designing the ultimate car of the future — in a drug deal that would become the most lurid celebrity scandal of the 1980s.
